Hygiene-Focused Safety in Food Production

Hygiene-Focused Safety in Food Production

A responsible approach to safety and hygiene in a food production facility

A shared mission: safety and innovation

The client is a European manufacturer operating in the field of medical nutrition and infant food production. Its mission is focused on providing the highest quality nutritional care for people in the most vulnerable moments of life. Such a responsible declaration must go hand in hand with the highest standards of safety and hygiene in the production process.

Anter System, as a manufacturer of modern safety solutions, fits these needs perfectly by offering systems that support this mission through real improvements in safety and cleanliness within the production environment.

Long-term cooperation

Anter System has been cooperating with production facilities operating within this industrial organization for over 10 years, delivering successive installations of flexible safety systems. During this time, more than 20 projects have been completed, each tailored to individual requirements and high operational standards.

The first barriers installed at the beginning of this long-term cooperation are still in use today in production facilities – without the need for replacement or refurbishment. This is clear proof of the durability and quality of the applied solutions, which directly translates into long-term trust.

Hygiene under control – safety without compromise

Food production, especially for infants and people with specific medical needs, requires
absolutely the highest standards of cleanliness. In such facilities, there is no room for compromise
– every element of equipment must support safety and comply with strict sanitary requirements.

A common solution found in many industrial plants is steel safety barriers. However, in areas with elevated hygiene standards, their use involves a number of risks, including paint chipping, susceptibility to corrosion, and the need for regular maintenance. Stainless steel barriers, on the other hand, are a costly option, and in the event of impact damage often require complete replacement, generating additional costs and increasing the risk of production downtime. In environments where hygiene and reliability are as important as durability, such a protection strategy proves insufficient.

For this reason, the client decided to implement Anter System flexible safety barriers. These solutions were designed specifically for environments with particularly high requirements. The materials used to manufacture the barriers:

  • are resistant to corrosion,
  • do not chip or peel,
  • are colored throughout the material, maintaining their aesthetics,
  • meet strict HACCP and FDA standards,
  • are easy to keep clean,
  • are available in versions with internal fixing, which limits the formation of recesses where dirt could accumulate and eliminates the risk of corrosion of mounting elements.

By choosing flexible safety barriers, the client was able to ensure the highest level of safety – both for employees and for the product. This decision confirms a strong commitment to maintaining world-class standards in every area of the production facility.

Floors protected – when safety starts from the ground up

The production facility uses specialist resin floors with antistatic properties, essential for maintaining sterility and operational safety. Such flooring represents a significant investment, and any damage would result not only in high repair costs, but also in potential production downtime.

Flexible safety barriers from Anter System not only protect people and machinery, but also significantly reduce the risk of floor damage:

Thanks to these features, investment in flexible safety barriers effectively protects flooring, limits the risk of production downtime, and ensures continuity of operations even in the most demanding conditions.

Operator comfort = fewer accidents

The barriers are designed not only for durability, but also with ergonomics and visibility in mind. The bright yellow color of Anter System elements significantly improves visibility for forklift operators, reducing the risk of collisions compared to galvanized steel barriers with low visual contrast.

In addition, the barriers have no sharp edges – an important factor when protecting goods transported on forklifts, such as powdered infant formula, and above all, when safeguarding employee health.

An intelligent approach to space organization

Narrow corridors and limited working space are common challenges in production facilities. In this case, a flexible approach to zoning was required while maintaining smooth processes and a high level of safety.

The modular design of our barriers enables adaptation of layouts to the geometry of the hall, quick changes during production reorganization, and optimization of pedestrian and vehicle traffic routes. technical advisors supported the project not only with products, but also with know-how related to traffic flow planning and the optimal placement of pedestrian crossings – ensuring daily operations are both efficient and as safe as possible.

With climate in mind

The client is implementing a long-term strategy aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving Net Zero targets. The choice of flexible safety barriers supports this approach. Flexible barriers generate a carbon footprint up to five times lower than steel barriers.

Products used

As part of the project, the following solutions were supplied and installed:

Traffic R3 GB flexible barriers – for creating traffic routes and protecting both pedestrians and machinery, with a lower GB profile preventing forklift forks from driving underneath the barrier.

SGA safety gates with pictograms, one-way opening – a physical barrier protecting pedestrians from accidentally entering forklift traffic routes.

PA safety bollards – installed at entry gates, flexible and resistant to repeated impacts, protecting structural elements in areas with the highest number of maneuvers.

Slide Gate R3 sliding safety gates – enabling material movement between traffic routes and flexible space management.

The result? Safer day-to-day operations and a stronger advantage

The implementation of Anter System flexible safety barriers in this production facility goes far beyond standard space protection. From the very beginning of facility design, the goal was to ensure the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and efficiency. This approach delivers a real competitive advantage – because safety should not be treated as an add-on, but as a foundation of operations.

Summary

At Anter System, we believe that true innovation solves real problems and delivers long-term value. Cooperation with demanding manufacturers from the food and medical nutrition sector enables us to create durable solutions that genuinely improve safety, support sustainable development, and raise standards across entire industries.
