At one of our client’s facilities, several loading docks had to be shut down for costly repairs caused during the unloading of goods. This led to slower operations, delivery delays, and financial losses. In addition, several dangerous situations occurred in the area when a forklift operator nearly struck a pedestrian worker by accident.
To improve safety and minimize losses, the client decided to install a double lift-up dock barrier. The zone was further secured with protective bollards. Since then, the number and severity of damages have been reduced to a minimum, and employees can now work in safe conditions.
Along the dock, barriers were installed on both sides to prevent pedestrians from crossing directly in front of the doors. Forklift operators are also able to move safely, without the risk of pedestrians unexpectedly entering their path.
