A leader in the food industry faced the challenge of ensuring proper safety for employees and wall structures within their facility. After several incidents, it was decided that more effective protective measures were needed. The use of flexible protective barriers from our brand – Anter System – proved to be the key solution.
This production facility had many high-traffic areas involving both people and forklifts. Accidental collisions between forklifts and equipment, as well as dangerous incidents involving employees, raised management’s concern. Traditional metal barriers turned out to be insufficient, not adapted to tall spaces, sometimes even dangerous in such conditions, and costly to repair after each collision.
The company has been operating in the production sector for over 9 years, employing a large workforce. The facility runs on three shifts, which further increases the risk of accidents.
After analyzing the market, the decision was made to implement flexible protective barriers that could better absorb impacts and minimize equipment damage as well as the risk of employee injuries. Anter System, specializing in such solutions, was selected to carry out the implementation.
Safety audit: Our team conducted a detailed audit of the facility, identifying critical areas requiring protection.
Solution design: Based on the audit results, customized solutions were designed, taking into account the specifics of the facility and its logistics processes.
Barrier installation: High Gate Protector barriers were installed to protect gates, mezzanines, low passages, and low-hanging infrastructure. Additionally, Gate Protectors were equipped with warning systems in the form of light signals. In designated areas, such as intersections of transport routes with pedestrian traffic and around public utility zones, SGR safety gates and SGA gates with warning signs were also installed. Gates in critical locations were equipped with automatic assistance systems, which means they lock automatically when a forklift is detected by barrier sensors, and unlock when the area becomes safe. At entrances to social rooms, where there was little space for traditional swing gates, Slide Gates were installed, sliding into their own structure. Along pedestrian lines, Pedestrian barriers were mounted with additional low reinforcements to protect against low-positioned forklift forks. Walls were protected with low GB HD+ barriers of reinforced design. In areas with a high risk of scrapes but limited space for barrier installation, ERTAX impact plates were mounted directly to walls, protecting surfaces from impacts by transport vehicles, forklifts, or pallets.
After implementing flexible protective barriers, the number of incidents and collision risks decreased significantly. The workflow received strong reinforcement thanks to reliable solutions, which improved comfort and efficiency at work. The number of equipment and wall damages was reduced, allowing the company to save on repairs. Employees felt greater care for their workplaces and their own safety. All Anter System products used remained compatible with the facility’s sanitary requirements, supporting high food production standards.
